Cause for Celebration: Derek Loccident

As part of our Cause for Celebration series presented by PNC, we are highlighting athletes with disabilities who have reshaped sport through resilience and versatility. This week, we celebrate Derek Loccident.

After a life-changing train accident in 2018, Derek returned to competition in Para track and field, becoming a standout in the T64 classification across sprinting and jumping events.

He went on to earn Paralympic silver medals in both the long jump and high jump at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, establishing himself among the world’s best.

Today, we celebrate an athlete whose speed, power, and determination continue to inspire.
