Cause for Celebration: Katie Holloway Bridge
As part of our Cause for Celebration series presented by PNC, we are highlighting the triumphs of athletes with disabilities who have reshaped sport through leadership, resilience, and excellence. This week, we celebrate Katie Holloway Bridge.
Born with fibular hemimelia, Katie had her right leg amputated as a toddler but went on to become a standout NCAA Division I basketball player — the first female amputee to do so. She later found her path in sitting volleyball, where she became a cornerstone of Team USA.
A five-time Paralympian and five-time medalist, Katie has helped lead Team USA to three consecutive Paralympic gold medals in Rio, Tokyo, and Paris, cementing one of the most dominant runs in the sport.
Today, we celebrate a leader and champion whose journey continues to inspire athletes to embrace who they are and compete without limits!
